Patching Oblivion to 1.2

I have tried to patch oblivion using every single patch I could find,
None of them work they all give me the error : "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since the file contents do not match," it freezes at 4% then gives the error. I have tried to install uninstall several times. When I tried to patch it it was a vanilla clean copy with no modifications.I am running vista.please help me

 

uninstall oblivion delete all files then re install . Had the same problem with Americas Army right click and run installer as administrater. then patch but once again right click and run as administrater. You may also try turning off user account settings in control panel until the game is installed then restarting them. Hope that helps

 

I have tried a few times to run as administrator, install, uninstall... I've done everything.This patch issue makes the textures in oblivion really really ugly on max graphics.It's as if it patches everything (because I installed 1.2 mods successfully) except the textures, I am sure it is not the mods because I deleted them and uninstalled and reinstalled oblivion.

 

I know 1.2 was to allow the game to run less demanding on lesser spec computers, have you tried the latest patch here
Are you sure you have removed all files from the Oblivion/Data......? sorry but I must ask.

I had a similar problem, but that was just a resolution issue....

There are plenty of texture replacement mods out there, released purely for this reason.......good luck
