    yo..
I only have access to my winxp files via ie browser

All i need is to get to device manager.. is there any path to device manager? I know all the right-click and command prompt ways to open it.

Or is there a path to open a command prompt?

    Thanks!!

Anything that can be opened/run from the command prompt directly (i.e. without specifying a path) will most likely be in the system32 directory ("C:\Windows\system32").

    G'day aladiyat23
if you follow this method it will bring up systems properties

" Versions of Windows that have Device Manager and users who have a Windows keyboard connected can quickly get to Device Manager by pressing the Windows key and the Pause key at the same time."

    hope this helps.

Right click on My Computer and choose Manage. On the left side of the window that opens, click on Device Manager.

winows/pause keys didnt work but thank you for the suggestion... but i did find dxdiag in the system32 folder.

All I needed to do was verify the sound card driver on my previous XP install. My new XP install has sp3 already integrated in it on the CD..

I dont have a driver cd. I'm trying to get my audio to work.

    SO next question...
How do I remove sp3 when its not in my add/remove programs? The methods microsoft suggested dont work either. I want sp3 off and just have sp2 for now for audio to work.

    Thanks!!

i don't think reverting back to sp2 is an option for you as it was a sp3 install disk you have used.if you can list what type of sound device you have we may be able to find the required drivers you need on the net.
