Not sure what you mean exactly. You plug your speakers into the front jack and sound only comes out one speaker? Is that right? Do you get full sound from the back jack? If so it could be a problem with the jack itself. If you wiggle it around, do you get static or even sound out of the other speaker for a second.

yes i plug my headphones in the front headphone jack and the sound comes out of only one speaker the back jack works fines the jackplug is fine no matter how much i wiggle it round i still only get sound in one speaker im a bit confused myself im not sure if its a motherboard fault

If you're sure the jack is fine, then we just reached the extent of my hardware knowledge in that area. :D As a temporary solution you could get a Y-connecter and plug your main speakers and head phones into the back jack.

It could be the motherboard, wiring, and/or the jack. If you're not familiar with the inner workings of a PC, I do not suggest going in there and checking to see if a wiring has just come loose, but it's possible depending on your Make and Model.

Some after market speakers come with a headphone jack on one of the speakers. Or you could just purchase another y-cable. (But I don't know the consequences of putting a y-cable on a y-cable. I've done it in the past on home equipment, not on PC equipment.):(

the motherboard wireing is fine hence my concern i could just buy a sound card or whatever but id like to find out whats going on as apposed to just bypassing the problem

Yeah, I agree with you. You never know what caused this, could cause other issues. :(

Just remember, by default your internal sound is disabled when you install a sound card in an expansion slot (PCI or whatever). :(

Good luck in whatever you do. ;)
