PC Background Changed

Before I started this thread I checked to see if anyone else had reported this issue. I can't find anyone else having reported it. I therefore wonder if it has only happened to me.

Yesterday I accepted a Windows Update. I cannot recall its exact name but it was basically an update for Windows 7 64 bit versions.

My computer's background is different today when I switched the PC on that when I turned it of yesterday.

I am only guessing the update and the changed background are linked. After installing the update yesterday it requested I restart my PC, which I did. There was no change to the background after I restarted, evidence that the update is not the cause of the change.

I'm running malware checks as I write this. Is it something malware would do? I know malware could probably do it but would it? It seems to me a lot of trouble to go to just to write code to change someone's background and to give them so obvious a clue that their PC had been attacked.

 

I will not require any help with this. All scans report the PC is clean. Plus, the culprit has just confessed to me.:mad

 

As a matter of interest, what happened? :confused

 

Another user changed it. They don't have administrator rights so I don't know how.

 

They did it from their Standard User account. My account is password protected. I wasn't logged in when it happened.
