you need to re instal your master boot loader... here are the steps

    1. boot with an XP setup disc
    2. go into recovery console
    3. type into the recovery console 'fixmbr'
    4. type into the recovery console 'fixboot''

this will re instal the XP boot loader

this will definately resolve your problem in relation to booting windows XP, however, NE boot loader required for additional operating systems will be over written, take care

It is merely the web page to download the program listed in the first line of your screenshot.

That is Nero Boot-Loader. This is a program you can get from the makers of Nero to help run multiple operating systems.
I simply asked if you have knowingly used this on your system as it makes a difference.
Alternatively have you loaded anyhting to do with Nero?

With regard to Soulhaunter's comments. You need to use the bootconfiguration command to sort out, I doubt that the boot sector is corrupt.

What sort of Windows CD do you have ? Is it a Microsoft or OEM Windows CD? or is it a manufacturer's 'recovery' cd?

If it is one of the forst two then boot the pc with it as if you were gpoing to reinstall Windows.
When you get to the screen which says
press enter to continue to setup or R for repair press R
The screen will go black and the system scans for Windows installations
You will get a numbered list of these, choose the number against your XP installation.
At the request for and administrator password type it in or press enter if you haven't set one
At the > prompt which appears
    Typein
    bootcfg /rebuild

After it is done type exit to finish and reboot.

Although, surely there should've been a different error message??
