    Hey all,

I am currently experiencing crash problems as of late on my desktop pc. It was for a few days, left on over nights, shutting off and when I would boot up into windows I would get a error message saying that windows shut down unexpectedly. I then made it show the error rather then turn off and I found i am having a blue screen occur :(. I jotted down what it was saying an this is what i have ....

Not sure how to fix this as I have already ran Spy bot an malware remover to see if that was the problem. but it is still doing so. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Upon further reading it looks like it may be because of the USB being used at max 100% an forcing a shut down. I have a keyboard, mouse, iphone all usb attached but is that really going to max out the USB usage?

If there was a fault in any one of them or the hub, PSU or a related motherboard item, yes.

Best to disconnect those items that aren't needed full-time and test again.

Should I update the bios or something? I haven't done that with this pc. could that be the reason? I figured it was an over heating issue since my new apt doesnt have ceiling fans yet so its hot in my room at times. but can i run something an pinpoint the issue?

USB devices include a wireless logitech MX500 mouse

    logitech usb light up keyboard

    iphone

occasionally i plug in a programmable device an flash it which I just got recently. And the PS3 EYE.

Test it with only the mouse and keyboard to begin with.

Just looked at your specs, what PSU are you using? Can you give the the model number and stats from the label, please?

Hmm, it should run your equip ok. If it's not performing as spec. though, it could easily be causing this problem.

Can this PC take PS2 mouse and keyboard (many recent Dell's can't :( )? It would be good to D/C all USB connections for a while to see if it still happens.

Sadly It cant. I will just use the keyboard mouse combo only.

Just did the restore to a few weeks ago. We will see tonight if this cures the dilemma. It might be the blackcatsUSB I just hooked up to my pc though.
