My PC crashes entirely after 15-60 minutes of playing games, like GTA V, Modern Warfare, Conan Exiles, ...
It used to not crash in less demanding games like Rocket League but now it even crashes in Dark Souls II, even though the FPS is very good, it just suddenly crashes.
My entire system becomes completely unresponsive when it crashes: the audio stops, the screen freezes, buttons stop working (even ctrl+alt+del or alt+F4), the fans suddenly get very loud and I can only hold down the power button to quit. The crashes happen even quicker after I restart my PC and the game.

I did a CPU test, a RAM test, the FurMark GPU test and all of it was ok. My drivers are up to date. I really don't know what the culprit is. I logged my temperatures and other stuff I can't really interpret but the temperatures are ok right before the crash. One thing I noticed is that my GPU Core Load percentage was 98% before the crash (I was playing Remnant: From the Ashes).

    Specs:

CPU Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU cooler Scythe Mugen MAX 97.18 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
    RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 CL15 Memory
SSD Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
HDD Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Video Card
OS Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit
PSU EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Sorry, but saying your temps are "ok" does not really help us. What are your temps? Is the interior of your case clean of heat trapping dust? Are all your fans spinning?

Any errors logged in Event Viewer right before it crashes?

If your temps do actually remain "ok" when gaming, then you need to swap in another known good PSU to verify your power is good. While that EVGA is a good PSU (I actually have the exact same G2 550W Gold model in this machine! :)), even the best from the best can fail prematurely.

which tells anyone that the system is getting very hot! Something is too hot.

I would upload the excel log file but it doesn't let me, so here is a WeTransfer link to the log file: https://we.tl/t-kHROd98WRM . There is quite some dust in my case. The fans only get loud as soon as the crash happens, not before.

In event viewer, I get the events 10110 "A problem has occurred with one or more user-mode drivers and the hosting process has been terminated. This may temporarily interrupt your ability to access the devices." and 10111 "The device HID-compliant headset (location (unknown)) is offline due to a user-mode driver crash. Windows will attempt to restart the device 4 more times. Please contact the device manufacturer for more information about this problem." and 219 "The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device HID\VID_0951&PID_16A4&MI_03&Col02\7&1c94fa2&0&0001." but I'm not sure these are all events at the time of the crash. I can test that again if needed. Thanks for looking into it!

Well, I'm not doing that WeTransfer thing. If there is a lot of dust, you need to clean it out. It is important to remember there are many heat sensitive components in our systems that affect system stability and don't support user monitoring.

My CPU temperatures were max 55 degrees Celsius. System was max 45 degrees. GPU temperatures were max 80 degrees.

Thank you all, I cleaned my PC and it was indeed overheating. There was A LOT of dust, the filters were completely clogged (especially the PSU one) so the cooling couldn't happen efficiently enough I guess. The crashes seem to be gone now.

FTR, on the first of every month, I do a visual inspection of my computers. All my cases (except the notebook's ) have removable filters so I clean them if necessary. All my PC cases have side panel windows so I can look inside without removing the side panel. If dust is building up (which eventually happens even with a filtered case), then I break the system down, lug it outside and blast it with filtered compressed air. If you don't have an air compressor, you can use cans of dusting gas. Just do it outside too as that is NOT canned air but "gas", a refrigerant to be precise, and a hazardous one at that.

Now that the 2 legged rugrats have moved out, and the 4 legged best bud is gone :() little dust is being brought into the house or constantly being stirred up by running feet. So I could probably stretch out the inspections to every 3 or even 6 months, but monthly is by habit and only takes a few seconds. Better too often than not often enough.

Yes I haven't cleaned it since I built it 3 years ago. I learned my lesson now though and I'll buy compressed air to do it regularly now. I even rediscovered that the fans at the front panel had LEDs that I haven't seen in at least a year because of the dust. Thanks for the help again!

That gave me one of my grins for today. Happy cleaning.
