PC Crashing

Over the past couple of weeks I have had a problem with my PC crashing numerous times during startup or shortly thereafter. The PC just automatically restarts itself. This happens about 5 times every time I boot up at which time eveything works fine. Some of the error reports I have sent to Microsoft at the below link. I have not recently installed any new hardware. In trying to correct this problem I updated my video card driver to the most recent driver as I thought this might have been causing the problem.

Same here. Actually much worse, but that's how it started. I am suspecting drying-out capacitors on the motherboard (just a hunch). Basically, when the PC is cold, it is very unstable. Better when it warms up. You could try to isolate the problem a bit by running selective benchmarks. E.g., run a memory benchmark upon booting from a diskette. "Microsoft Windows Memory Diagnostic" is fine for this (google for it), and no, it's not a Windows program at all. This test would at least mostly cut the video card out of the equasion. You could then take all the peripherals out. Perhaps also set BIOS to "safe" settings, etc.

Bottom line: your motherboard or CPU or memory or something else is probably dying, so do a full backup!

Also it could be a loose reset swich or your PSU isn't providing enough power. Is there any sequence to the restarts? Like when you start playing games or maybe some power surges. Well that is the bright side. The dark side it probably is like Alventis said your PC is on it's last legs and you should back up.
