pc defense programs

there have been alot of ddos attacks on people latley that go to anit-______(insert cause or political hoopla). so what I was going to ask yall was, what programs would be good to combat this and other web based attacks as well on your pc. appreciate the help.

 

I'll have to agree with Mark. I personally haven't used Comodo's Firewall in a while, but it consistently gets good reviews and has a large fan base. I have used Online Armor and I really like it. It's easy to use compared to some of the other firewalls I've tried. And they're both 100% free!

 

awesome. thanks alot guys. I'm also asking as well for any kind of anit-hacker/cracker software that could help out as well. any suggestions? I know a good firewall is great and that will definitely be used, but I also was wondering about programs that could be used to boost up my defense. because sometimes the pricks get past the wall and wreak havok on yer system anyway yknow.
