    Hi Everyone:

Please help me on my computer. Everytime I turn on my PC does not start with the checkup, in other words does not do anything.

I thought it was the power supply which I did but still the problem continues. I checked the memory and still continues.

What it does. I push the turn on bottom and the PC does not do anything. If I do it several times. It starts up. What other thing could I check in.

    The PC is a GATEWAY model GM5072 S/N CCH6251000553

    Thanks
    Please.................

Since your PC starts up after hitting your power button several times, there are three possibilities I can think of:

    1) Overheating. Does your PC shut off after running for a while? Does it start after being turned off for a while and it has cooled down?.

    2) Faulty power button. It's somewhat rare, but maybe your power button is partially broken.

    3) Dying motherboard. Perhaps your motherboard is dying but not dead yet. If this is the case, you should be having problems even when you can get your computer to start.

Those are the only things I can think of.

Also a possibility is a dodgy video card.

I'm assuming that when you say the computer does nothing on attempting to boot you mean you do not get any POST diagnostic beeps.

Yes I did not get any Beep, nothing.

Well the led that it turn on the PC I can see it lighting, but the computer does not start the sound that normally does like checking its components does not do it. It stays with the led green in front of the case and the power supply is running because I can see the Fan spin but the sound of getting start up does not sound and stays there like frozen.

    Thanks

Well, the fact that the fans spin and the led lights up changes a couple things. Either your monitor/video card is bad and your not getting a display, or your computer is not POSTing (power on self test). If you have tried another monitor and video, its probably the POST, and just about anything can screw up a POST.

To diagnose a bad post, try removing all devices from the motherboard except for the RAM, processor and power supply. If the computer starts then, it is probably one of those devices you removed. If it does not start, than try re-seating or re-placing the RAM. If the computer still does not start after that, and you have already tried a different power supply, it is probably a bad processor.
    supply. If it starts then,

    Senlis:

Thanks I will try to remove all the components and leave only the Power supply, ram and the Processor. To see if it works and I will reply you.

The monitor is not it, because sometimes the PC starts up and the monitor works.

The issue appears most of the time, that the PC does not start up. But one in a while it starts up.

    Thanks

Start with just removing the video card as both Senlis and myself would appear to agree on that being a likely culprit.
