    Hi,
For the last two Windows security updates my computer freezes up after restart. I download and install the updates and I'm asked to do a restart. I restart the computer,is does its thing message pops up that windows is configing please wait. Then windows attempts to start up but I have a blank screen ( no icons or mouse fucntion, key board as well. ). I still give it another15 mins. still blank so I shut down the computer and start it back up. All is normal after the second restart, updates did install and everything is working just fine. Any one know what's up with this, little help guys.

( I have no virus or malware on my PC ).

    Windows 7 Home
    Eset Security Suite 5
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    SpywareBlaster
    SUPER AntiSypware

    Marlene,
    XOXOXO's

Please give the KB of the last two updates. We have no way of knowing what you are trying to install. Not all Windows 7 computers are offered the same updates.
Even my XP computers (currently 3 in the house) are offered different updates and not in the same order.

So you mean two months of updates are missing?

Read the first thread again,I never said they are missing. After updates are installed and the computer is restarted the computer frezzes up. Then I have to shut down and start up the PC then it runs just fine. I'm trying to find out why it freezes up after updates are installed and computer is restarted.

    Greetings, Marlene3369...

The last two Windows Updates on your list have apparently caused problems elsewhere as evidenced by internet forum searches keying those KB numbers. In fact, KB2753842 even required a re-issue by Microsoft - the original was posted on 12/11/2012 whereas the patched version was posted on 12/21/2012.

Don't know if that has any bearing on your situation or not. If your machine is now running without problems then this could be a tough problem due to its intermittent nature. You might try this:

Now you can periodically check to see if any updates have been issued - when they have, you can selectively install them and try to get a better handle on what's going on with your system.

If I would have a problem, in November, I'd restore to a point before the updates and install one at a time rebooting in between to see which one causes a problem.

    I November, I was offered 5 updates (7 Home 64 bit). I installed all but 2729452.
Then in late Nov., 2762895 was offered. I avoided that.
    This caused problems for some

    Hi plodr,
I did a systems restore and went back 2 months,I had to reinstall the last two months of windows updates. Well the computers back to normal, after install and restart things are working just fine now. Maybe my update configuration setting were damaged or something else, but got fixed with the restore. Thank you for your help.
