PC freezes when i browse internet

I have no idea if this is the correct place for my question, but im hoping someone can help here, whenever i browse the internet all of a sudden my pc will freeze for about 2 mins max, sometimes just a min sometimes less. it doesnt freeze long enough for me to want to restart it but it freezes often for me to find it annoying.

anyone have any idea what this might be? i barely bought the computer a few months ago its a dell, with a pentium 4 processor with HT technology.

 

Adelphia cable internet. im not on a router, i use both IE and mozilla, the thing is my whole PC freezes, not just the internet windows. i Uninstalled Both IE and mozilla and then installed them again and it keeps happening. I always run Ad aware, i have spyware blaster, i have mcafee updated version anti virus. firewall, so i dont know whats causing this.

 

No i didnt get any cd with it.

 

Well ive discovered that if i open the task manager with alt+ctrl+del that it unfreezes, but that doesnt get rid of the problem. as soon as i do that the cpu ussage goes from 100% down to 15%.
