I recentlly changed my operating system from vista home premium 32 bit to vista home premium 64 bit and am now having some wierd problems.

I followed the instructions and used windows easy transfer to copy my settings, then i installed the 64 bit as a custom installation and it said it moved my old operating system files into a folder called windows.old.

I then installed all my 64 bit drivers and put the files back on from windows easy transfer.

When installing 64 bit however i did accidentlly install it twice ( i booted from DVD drive again instead of hard drive the first time it installed) which created a second windows.old folder.

The problem i am now having is sometimes when playing games or watching films in full screen mode the pc will just freeze.

The screen will appear distorted with wierd colours appearing or jagged lines accross the screen. and the whole picture will look messed up.

The only way for me to solve this is to then switch the PC off at the mains and im not sure what is causing this.

By changed, do you mean upgraded or did a clean install?

Accidentally installing windows twice should not cause your said behaviors. I suggest you do a clean install. Format the OS drive during setup.
