PC Hangs and Shuts Down

    Hi,
    My PC runs Windows XP. About 3 times a day it freezes and then after approx 2 mins shuts down. I've ran a few Windows Alerts and it appears as if the processor jumps up to full capacity prior to it freezing from a low idle rate.
    No events are raised in the Windows Event Log. Any help or guidance would be good?

    It's probably overheating
