Pc help..

Ok, i'm a new girl, and i've got no idea if this is even posted in the right section, but basically

my step dad's just upgraded the pc from windows 98 to XP, i havn't had The sims on for awhile, though i'd try download it, and it comes up with this message

"the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications"

now, it's not just doing this for the sims, Dungeon keeper, lego games, Broken sword (the newest one!) and populas are the same (there the only games i've tried)

But yet, i have got Dungeon siege on here and it works fine, and the first Age of empires on the system too.

Can anyone help at all?

I'm just getting angry with the PC now...

I just need to know where i can get a safe pc patch or something.

Ah, well, it wasnt illigaly obtained you see.. WE actually brought the Windows update from a pc shop.

I don't belive mcadam88 was refering to your copy of XP, but was refering to this part of your original post

when people talk out downloaded software, we assume it is pirated, and no one here at Major Geeks will assist you if this is the case.

 

Software includes games too.
