PC House cleaning

I have a self built pc,I have a 300gig HD in it now.I have alot of JUNK on it like prgrams that i've tryed ect.that I want to get rid of,also alot I need .Also i would like my OS on a partition by it's self.This is what I'm going to do if anyone see's something wrong Please let me know.I have a 250 gig (new) if I put this HD in my PC and install my OS on a partition by it's self.Then install the 300gb as a slave and transfer data I want to keep a little at a time onto the 250gb(as I don't have the time to do it all at once) Once I have all I want ,do a complete format on the 300gb,and use it as a slave . Thanks in advance for any advice

That sounds fine to me, i recently did the same thing with a new 320GB SATA2 drive with perpendicular recording-- since its the fastest i made it my OS drive and used my older 250GB SATA as storage.

As always, I make a partition for the OS, usually around 50-60GB so i dont have to worry about running out of room for programs (large games etc..)

Just a small recommendation: While you're working on the new OS drive, take the old 300 gig drive out completely to avoid any accidents when partitioning and formatting (says the guy whos accidentally erased partitions with valuable information on them ) haha
