I have two identically self-assembled desktop PC's. However, one PC can play the game: "Call of Duty 4" smoothly while the other is erratic or lagging. Any idea why?

I assembled my PC's with the ff:
    Processor: AMD Athlon II X3 440, 3 CPU's, 3.0 GHz
    MOBO: MSI 785 GTM-E45 w/ integrated HD4200 and a total combined 700
    MB graphics
    RAM: 2GB Patriot DDR2 800Mhz
    HDD: 320 GB Samsung, SATA
OS: Win XP Service Pack 3.

    Recommended Specs for the game:
CPU: 2.4 GHz dual core or better
RAM: 1GB for XP; 2GB for Vista
Harddrive: 8GB of free hard drive space
Video card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better

The minimum recommnedation is for a single core P4 or Athlon with generic
    Video card: NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better

Thanks a lot for the help,

    Gen. Geek

    Greetings, General Geek...

Since these are identical machines, I don't see why you can't swap some components, try to isolate any hardware issues...

Are you LANning these machines? If so, you may have some networking issues going on...

Check and compare the Task Manager stats on each PC, before and during play, you should see a difference somewhere.
