I found a solution but don't know if it is harmful or advisable. It is to open the network adapter in device manager and after clicking properties under broadcom, untic ,"allow this device to turn of this computer".
It seems to work but as I said is it advisable. The machine seems very delicate when it comes to sleep; the slightest touch or noise turns it on from sleep.
I also read that working with mouse settings can stop this delicate awakening.

The wording is actually 'allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'. That's rather different and will cause your connection to go down if it's not in use for a short time. If that is acceptable to you then that's fine, perfectly safe.

I did not realize that. B/c I use it constantly until I leave, it seems a viable solution. I do have power settings set to 5 minutes for the screen and 10 for the machine. I do not know if these settings will still work with this new change.
    I'll see.
    Thanks, Bernie
