PC needs several tries to turn on

My motherboard is such that there is the on and off switch at the front and there is another switch at the back. Of course if the back switch is off, the front switch doesnt work.

I usually leave the back switch off and use the front switch to turn on my PC. However recently when I press the front switch to turn my PC on, the PC will be on for 2-3 seconds and then it died out. It's still half-on because the Power light is greenish (when off there's just no color). Then I have to turn off the back switch, then turn on the back switch again and the PC will start.

However even more recently, it takes a couple of on and off of the back switch to get my PC on. It's like when I turn on and off the back switch, the PC will be turned on for 2 seconds then died out again.

Just today I spent 2 min switching on and off the back switch and I'm afraid it's going to be even longer in future.

Any help is appreciated!

 

It could be the power supply dying, it could be the motherboard, there's no way to immediately tell.
If you can get another psu to try that would be good, and also check all cable connections inside the case too.

 

I agree with mcadam probably psu issue,next time your computer boots,go into bios and select failsafe defaults see if that helps

 

I checked the fail-safe and it doesnt seem to be anything wrong (Not that I'm an expert though lol...)

If PSU something buyable at let's say... Futureshop or Radioshark?
