I have been trying to get winblows to see another hdd I just added to my system. Nothing special, just an extra 10gb hdd. The BIOS is auto-detecting the hdd, but I can't see it anywhere in winblows. I'm running win98se.

    Thanks in advance.

Forgot to mention that I have the AN11 mobo.

Was also wondering if there was a way to disable the RAID detection. I don't use RAID and probably won't.

I also forgot to mention that its a Seagate 10gb drive. Windows can see the master drive fine (which is a maxtor).

Has the drive been set to Primary or slave, or is it set to cable detect(or select). If it's the latter you may need to update your data cable. Or you could just set it to slave using the jumper switch at the back of the drive. You''' notice it will say somthing like 'M' 'P' 'CD'.

also if you are running win xp go to control panel click admin tools click disk management and see if sees it if it does you may just have too right click it and formatt.

first make sure it shows up in the bios.
if it doesn't most likely a jumper problem.
if it does and not windows, you need to format it first, follow above post.
remember: if it never shows in the bios it will never show in windows.

Thanks guys, I'll double check the jumpers and try what was suggested. I'll post with the results.

Got it working last night. I had to use fdisk to setup the drive to get windows to see it. Thought I did that previously but I guess not.

    Thanks for the help!
