To get the onboard video to work you'd have to check in BIOS as you might have to enable it. Other than that, it sure sounds like a blown video card though I'd expect it to go when it was being used the most heavily.:confused Can you try a different card?

Like augie said, it reads like the GPU has given up the ghost - happened to me when I was just browsing a couple of weeks ago.

Many PC's will enter the BIOS if the Del key is pressed repeatedly at boot up.

EDIT: No easy checks to rule out or in, the motherboard, many symptoms are very similar to those of a failed CPU or a bad power supply.

Ah, so it's a USB keyboard then? They typically don't work until windows loads, unless the BIOS has been specifically set to enable them at boot :(

Do you have, or could you borrow, a PS/2 keyboard (small circular connector, usually fits at the top of the case, just under the power supply)?

    :) I had to ask ...

I'll bow out of this for a while to have a rethink of it all and grab my second java of the day. Maybe someone else will chip in with an easy method of working out where this problem lies.
