PC Optimize

Anybody know of any freeware programs similar to PC optimize which are reasonably useable for a novice/mediocre user? confused

 

I have just gotta slow system and I wanted to speed it up as much as possible. I am upgrading the memory in a few weeks. I have a demo of PC Optimize and it gives suggestions but you have to fork out for the liscence to fix the suggestions. Ive been spending hours rooting through the keys on regedit sorting them!

Also load Process Explorer (PE). It will tell you what processes / applications are hogging your PC.

I have Tuneup Utilities 2007 (bought it). Is Advanced windowscare any better or are they both pretty much the same?

 

Advanced Window Care seems to just give a quick clean up, whereas TuneUp is much better for fiddling about and tweaking with. Ive got a pretty fly looking system due to Tuneup and my internet has been vastly speeded up due to the way it has configured it for me, happy days

Thru' this link they want your email address before you can even do a trial download, or see any info about it. They can go to hell.
You can't even see how big a download it is. It's >9 megs if you are interested.
