Im setting up a network with a personal desktop and a laptop. Before the laptop, my pc was connected directly to the modem. Now that Ive brought this laptop into the picture, Im using a D-Link DI-514 router. My question is, if im wanting to setup a wireless network for the laptop, in the initial setup and configuration process, should i be doing all of it from my desktop? In the routers instruction manual where you set the Dynamic IP Address is says "This setup should be done on the computer that is registered on the ISP's network." Does this mean i should be setting it up on the Pc or does it matter if I do it on the laptop?

In the initial setting up of the router, use the desktop since it's been hardwired to the modem. If you are going to change the desktop to a wireless connection use it to set up the wireless, then add the laptop.
If you are just going to use the laptop as wireless, use it to set up the wireless connection.
