Hi there, basically all I've been told is that the internet connection keeps dropping, and that anything like AVG/Windows Security Centre automatically gets shutdown and won't run.

AFAIK the only anti-virus software installed on the PC is AVG, but as that's shutting down and won't run in safe mode I'm a little unsure as to what to suggest.

I might suggest using Stinger but I don't think that's thorough enough to get rid of any viruses, are there any other free anti-virus programs you guys could recommend that'd run in safe mode and fix this problem?

    Cheeeeeeeers!

Windows XP Pro with SP2 btw! I think.
