Pc Problems

Not sure where to put this post as it could be a hardware issue as well I suppose.

The problem started awhile back with random restarts and program errors. The pc seemed like it would just restart while I was playing a game, so I replaced the video card, of course that didn't fix the problem and I started getting this CHK DSK thing upon reboot. So the next thing I did was buy a new power supply and hard drive. It ran fine for about 4 days and now the same problems minus the chk dsk.

I went through your malware post and downloaded a couple programs from there, spywareblaster, avast etc. Nothing found there, so I am lost. Maybe my old pc is just on it's last leg and it's time for a new one?

It's an AMD 2800+ with 1.5 gig of ram, 160 hard drive, ATI Radeon X1650, running XP pro SP2.

Before ya laugh at me, I really only used it for some games, (shot online and combat arms) storing my music for future cd's in case they got scratched, and basically just surfing the net. I also have reformatted the pc a TON of times before installing the new hard drive. Not since as it's a fresh install and no questionable software installed. I also have the same copy of XP installed on this pc (the one I am on now) and not one single problem in months of use.

Not sure what else I can post to help you guys help me, but I will answer any questions you have as best I can. So with all that being said, is it hopeless or are still still avenues available to try?

Well it's not restarting anymore, just getting the program errors. Just the plain old "this program has encountered and error and needs to close" etc. It's always the main exe of anything that gives the error, no matter which program it is.

Guess I forgot to mention that part in my original post. Sorry.
