Pc Randomly Crashes (and Reboots Itself)

Since 19/9/2023 ive been experiencing crashes with my pc. The computer will go black first, then after a few seconds it reboots itself. No blue screen or error/bug report etc. They can appear at random, sometimes after 10 minutes, sometimes after hours and sometimes the computer doesn't crash for days. Eventviewer says its a kernel power 41 issue.

At first, I thought it was PSU problem. so I bought a new PSU and a new case (be quiet! Pure Power 12 M 850W PSU and Fractal Design Torrent Compact White TG Clear Tint Midi Tower) This however did NOT fix the problem.

Since I got a new case I had already changed all of the cables etc. I also changed the power strip to see if that fixed any issues. But it did not. I also reinstalled my drivers (DDU), updated windows etc and did a bios reset. nothing worked. Tried both a stress test + a memtest none of which showed issues.

The next thing I tried was switching up the RAM (G.Skill DDR4 Trident-Z 2x8GB 3600MHz CL18 RGB) first I tried unplugging one stick, then the other, then I switched the slots but nothing helped. (note that I haven't bought new RAM to try out)

Then it was time to try out the GPU. I changed mine ( AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT) to and old nvidia 1070, and for a few days no crashes. But eventually it crashed again.

Lastly I changed my SSD (WD Black SN850X 2TB M.2 SSD) to and old one and did a clean windows 11 install. after a few hours the computer crashed again.

I'm a bit at a loss for words. I dont want to have to spend a lot of money again on new hardware that wont solve the issue. Does anyone have an idea or has had this issue? Is it most likely to be the ram, motherboard or cpu? or is there something in the software I have overlooked?

    additional info:
    motherboard: Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor

Sounds like the only thing you didn't change was the cpu cooler. How old is this PC? They say you should refresh the thermal paste every so often, so maybe a new cooler and paste? Had an Intel NUC acting like that.

Simply changing (or even CLEANING the present cooler) the processor heatsink/cooler can keep the processor temp within acceptable limits. Just get a new cooler (if you have to) and DO NOT "over do it" on the thermal [paste; too much can be as bad as too little.

Look at all you caps on the motherboard. If any are leaking or bulging replace them or get a new motherboard. Just grasping at straws at this point as you have already done most everything else. Of course, the CPU could be at fault, even though when they go, they usually dont work at all in my experience, but maybe?

Since you seem to have exhausted all other possibilities, it seems either the motherboard or CPU are somehow defective. If it was SIMPLY the CPU cooler, you should be able to detect progressive elevation of CPU temp until it reaches the point you have selected as maximum allowed. (It does "kinda' sound like the CPU is overheating and temporarily shutting down.)
What are your uses of the computer (on the whole) and the temperature maximums selected? Gaming can often push a processor to higher than "normal" temperatures. Perhaps you are pushing the CPU beyond the maximum temp you selected by using CPU intensive software?
A little more info (such as processor type, and amount of memory [not just manufacturer name] and MoBo type/manufacturer/model could be immensely helpful.)

Good advice given.. Go for the simple causes before changing much else. Download a free cpu temperature monitor app.. Check the cpu fan is running slow.. Take out cpu, clean and reseat carefully plus use a thin film of paste. Clean any dust from surface mobo and don't forget to earth yrself before touching anything...if not too late

Have you solved the problem, or at least identified the problem? Your solution here may help others if you return, or at least keep us posted.

Since ALL my posts seem to be "closely watched" good, bad or at least intelligent) I'll just say "Major Geeks," while 99.9% good, has apparently not appreciated or my evaluated some of my comments. Good Bye
