PC Reboots saying not enough Ram? 2gigs??

Well my computer will randomly restart once veery 2-3 days. It will go to a Blue screen and say loss of memory shutting down to prevent any damage? I have 2400MB of Kingston Ram. Running with dual 3200 Processors. Explain how my computer doesnt have enough ram? Had this system for about 9 months now as well. Run spyware checks every 2 daays and hardly get any since I dont use the internet much. HELP ME??confused

 

Is your system memory still managed by Windows.

 

If you go to settings, system properties, advanced , performance options, virtual memory, you will see how much windows allocates to use as system ram.
I usually set this to one and a half times the ram I have installed.
Have you emptied the system cache in these months ?

 

In visual effects you can gain performance by clickung on adjust for better performance, doing away with a lot of things like transition effects.

 

In memory usage you can click on System cache, if it spoils your program usage, you can just change it back to programs.

 

I will try to remember the way to empty cache , on shutdown, so that when you restart, it has a fresh capacity.
Possibly someone else will come on who can remember .
Have you emptied Explorer/ or, others brousers cache ?In Firefox, its tools, cache, and the option to lower the mb level, or, empty the cach is there.

 

If System cache is well loaded, it will play up , sometimes.

 

Also , if you right click on my computer, left click manage, left click System tools,You can look in the Event veiwer, and see what might be causing your problem, by looking at the yellow triangles, and double clicking that line, and it will often tell you a reason for the problem.

 

So far so good see how long and or if my pc randomly restarts again thanks for the many replys.

 

Just follow those little tips, regularly, if it does not play up for a while.
