PC seems to only operate between certain times.

My PC recently started shutting off at the same time every day and then refusing to come back on. If I leave it overnight then turn it on in the morning it comes up fine without any problems.

I checked the BIOS and cant see anything that prevents it from operating between certain times and indeed reset it to optimized defaults.

Checked the event viewer and nothing there of any note, I'm totally stuck.

    Any ideas?

Does it shut down properly? Or does the whole thing just get killed without warning?

You check the CMOS battery? I am guessing the timer could be getting messed up if the battery is dead or dieing..

this maybe a really dumb question but have you tried plugging something else into the wall socket that the pc runs off?

Even more specific... Is this outlet controled by a switch on the wall? Someone turning on the lights.. and then when going to turn them off BOOP... flips the wrong switch :-D
