My work PC has been slow on the "applying computer settings" mode after a reboot or a start up. The machine is on XP. It wasn't always that way, so I suspect it's something installed or an update that causes this problem. It takes almost 2 minutes before it finally gets passed it so I can log onto the network. Anyone have any ideas?

Sure. Restore it to a time before you had the problem.
Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore.

Then do one update at a time and use the computer before you install the next one until you find the update you think is causing the problem.

If I knew exactly which update it was, I would do that. This has been going on for a couple of months. I'm just now getting really annoyed with it.
