    Hi there

I'm having problems with my brothers pc, it keeps stalling at bootup. Simply, I power it up, it kicks into life for around 5 seconds then stalls at the tab del esc screen. It usually lasts for between 8 & 15 minutes, then carries on to load Windows normally. I took it to my house as it was infected with a virus as well. I have fixed everything using various programs including combofix, hijack this, spybot, pc pitstop & online scanners (kaspersky & bit defender) to name a few. I've carried out the usual computer maintenance tasks (error-checking, disk defrag and disk cleaning. The pc was functioning fine; booting up, shutting down, restarting, opening and closing applications and windows; but when I took it back to my brothers yesterday, the stalling problem reared its ugly head again. The only things connected to it are the keybord, mouse, monitor, printer and a little 4 port netgear wireless router. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance
    Alison

Does this stall happen when just the monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected?
With a problem like this it is best to do your checking with the fewest possible peripherals attached to the system.
