    Hi guys,
    Now for my P.C :-D

First I want to thank Kestrel for helping me wipe the virus from my system. I'd still be infected if it wasn't for you.

    Now, on with the problem!
Since getting infected with the bamital virus, my xp configuration changed to an admin/user hierarchy which Is something I don't need as I'm the only one using the P.C.
I also got alot of "Access Denied" dialogues when working through the malware removal process. Some of these were on programs that should have executed under my user account but didn't.

Anyway, back to the Admin/User issues.
I tried changing how users logged on from control panel/users or accounts to remedy the issue but when I went to make those changes I got a message saying netware for clients needs to be uninstalled before changes can be made.
I located netware for clients by right clicking my wireless connection and selected its properties, I uninstalled NFC successfully and rebooted.
On booting, I wasn't presented with my usual OS choices menu and it booted straight into another partition I created when trying to deal with the virus myself as certain things would not run under Admin, User or in Safe Mode.

I rebooted again hitting F8 which is usually safe mode but Instead of safe mode, I got a boot device priorities menu. I selected the HDD and the system proceeded to boot. Again, OS selection was bypassed and booting continued into the OS installed to help deal with the virus.
Again, I restarted, hit F8, Selected HDD from Device priority menu, Hit F8 Again (out of frustration), Was brought to the safe mode menu, selected "return to OS choices" and then proceeded to boot to the correct installation of XP.
One thing I would like to note, I get a message during boot saying "program XMNT 2002 has not been found - Skipping Autocheck"
I've had this for a while now, even before I got the virus but as xp worked without problems I never thought anything of it.

So now I went back to check that Netware for Clients had been successfully uninstalled, which it was.
I then proceeded with changing how users logged on but again I got an error message stating that NFC needed to be uninstalled even though I had removed it already. So after searching some forums and reading replies to threads related to this specific issue, I decided to re-install/un-install NFC.
I rebooted, double checked that NFC was gone, it was, then tried to change how users logged on, but again, the same error message appeared.

I've tried changing how users logged on in safe mode and as administrator but still no joy whatsoever.
    It's pretty frustrating!

Any ideas on how to resolve these issues?

    -Vin

Thanks man, I stumbled accross that forum before but I didn't have any luck. It's a complete mind boggler.
I uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled again and again on both admin and user accounts but I just can't get rid of it. Every time I open up Cpanel it's there, spitting in my face, There's no uninstall option there either just open and create shortcut and even when I go to open it I get a message saying "did not start".

I tried uninstalling it with Revo uninstaller in hunter mode but no joy. It's such an annoyance.

That and the fact that I have to hit F8 numerous times during boot up to get to the OS choices, makes me want to tear my hair out!!!:mad
