My PC when I press the power button doesn't turn on all the time. I thought maybe I had a faulty switch so I opened the pc up and I tried just manually starting the PC by touching the pins with a screwdriver. However the PC acts the same way. One time it will start and the next time I can leave the screwdriver on the pins and the PC does nothing...

Any ideas besides replacing motherboard or is it just something I have to live with?

Maybe check your power supply... if you have an extra, or a friend has one you can borrow, hook it up and see how things go. Also, double check all your power and data cable connections to make sure they're all firm and secure......
