Recently my PC has been jamming very frequently, usually it does it when i`m using Windo Media Player. as well as taking just a hint longer to do most stuff, it takes around 5seconds to actually fully load Firefox after i click it.
when i`m listening to music on media player or youtube, the music will still come out of the speakers for at least 2-3seconds after the program closes
now in games its "hiccuping" stopping every ex 13seconds,
it did it in DOW 2 and its doing it in a game that my PC should easily handle.

i did a scan with avast, nothing.
i had reformated perhaps a year ago?
    defraged regularly.
updated gpu drivers to latest one.
a few days ago i dusted out the tower using a vacuum cleaner and cleaned the air filter maybe it would have helped

what do you think is the problem?

Just a simple thing like cleaning out the junk can help a lot.
Download this from MGs and run the junk cleaner then let it clean all that it finds, after that run the reg cleaner at least twice (it does not always get everything the first time).
This is the safest cleaner around, if you are still having problems after that come back and give us some details about your PC, OS/memory/make and model and so on.

If you follow this guide it will give us a basis to start.

    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650

Is your PC a self build as i don't know any of the big manufacturers who use your motherboard (but then i could be wrong)

Malware cleaning is a last resort, lets hope it doesn't get to that.

i have had them for a long time, never gave me any problems.
    i`ll look into this,
however after i delete CFP i`m going to have to install another firewall.... i previoulsy had zone alarm but if i remember well i had taken it off because there was some problem with it and Windows.
    1) should i?
    2) which do you think i should install? (tbh i did everything from here, IE i chose all the programs etc... from this site, there was a thread which basically was a walk through of which ones to get and i followed it)

Hmm, *uninstall CIS*-nope Dom did not say that any where!! Exit/Disable from sys tray is what I meant. As for CIS AV - Was a double check for the OP..
    Chill..& Cheers

i disabled CFP from CCLeaner and left CIS on. so far so good.

Unwitting and inaccurate :-D Was that aimed at me. Take a pill Dom rolleyes

No-removing CFP would not create an issue and create a prob for the OP. If you consider my post 100% inaccurate...Yikes let an Admin or Mod step in :)

could it be that i have to many svchost`s or something?
i dont remember having so much when i used to regularly go to there to switch from dual core to one core for Battlefield2142 (and yes i tried changing cores for the games)

sometimes i just want to smash this piece of S*** i REALLY hate it when it starts giving me problems that are hard to fix and that are no direct fault of my own

Just clarifying ... did you update your Graphics Drivers BEFORE or AFTER the problem occurred??

Uh huh and I'm just making sure "clarifying" as I have already said, which I'm sure is something even you like to do DomLuc.

i opened up my case and placed a fan pointing towards the back of the tower(obviously on the side which i took the side panel off)
here are my temps with PC on normal
    mobo > 18
    Aux > 33
    GPU > 42
    HDD > 34
chassis fan/s > 358rpm(soudns pretty slow to me, dont remember what the case`s stock fans` speeds are supposed to be)

    (all in degrees)
gonna figure out how i can record the temps with a game because it jams by 20seconds out.
    anyway i can do this?

  25. titanium69

    titanium69 Private E-2

i`ll do that tomorrow... its late now, i`m gonna quickly see if i can record the temps with the game loaded in window mode

with the side running and the small fan i was able to get around the game options with significantly less stuttering
i was getting less artifacts, still got a few though
temps at most didnt really change significantly, gpu temp changed by around 5

however as i was writing this nasty sounds come out of the tower, AFAIK it was from the HDD
