I have a friend that is trying to use his television as a second monitor so he can watch programs like crackle, hulu and others on his television that is in another room. His problem is that his television doesn't have a computer connection on the back. I have tried to help him figure out an inexpensive way to hook up, I was using a small dell computer that I hooked up directly to my tv and I sold it to him but his problem remains. Is there a VGA to component adapter or VGA to hdmi adapter he can use? He has bought a few that didn't work, he is retired and funds are limited. I figured if he just got a VGA splitter and a VGA to TV coaxle adapter that would work for the video but I haven't seen any. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:cry

We figured it out folks. His problem with the HDMI connect on the back is that the computer uses analog signal and his tv uses digital signal so he's ordered a converter to hook up to between them.

I would have suggested he buy a different graphics card for his computer - one that had digital outputs so he can go digital from start to finish.

Using an analog to digital converter will work, but an inexpensive digital card would provide a better signal to the TV and to his computer monitors (or future monitors as they will likely be digital).
