PC to TV (geForce 6150se)

Hey all,

I have an older HP desktop, and wanted to hook it up to my TV. I am running a Polaroid TLA-04011c, which as far as I can tell only goes up to 720p / 1080i.

My desktop's video card is an integrated geforce 6150SE / nforce 430. I am kind of stuck. I am not sure where the problem lies; whether it is the tv or the video card.

The tv will accept 4:3 and 5:4 aspect ratio resolutions, but none of the 16:9 or even the native 1366 x 768. Any time I set it to any of those, the screen goes blue because it cannot 'find' a signal, and I have to wait till the display comes back because I didn't confirm the video card settings.

It just doesn't look great with the screen sort of smooshed.

Also, would you recommend the latest drivers from NVIDIA, or the ones that Windows Update suggests. I am currently running the ones from NVIDIA, and windows update wants me to use theirs that are like 2 years old.

Also wanted to add that I have a little older hp computer that i used to have hooked up to the tv, and it did the 1366 x 768 fine.

You will need to set it to 1280×720 to match the aspect ratio of your TV and to give it a signal is most probably will recognise so that is the resolution you need to look for,if this resolution isn't available you may be able to create a custom resolution of 1280 X 720 @60hz within the Nvidia control panel but that depends soley on the driver you have installed so have a look around for the custom resolution setting.

Its best to have the latest driver from Nvidia,if you can't set a custom resolution you maybe able to by installing Nvidia coolbits or rivatuner to unlock hidden settings but I'm not positive.
