    Hey there!
im looking to use my tv as a monitor and need some help with the cables ill need.
i have a radeon 9600 which has a 7pin svideo jack on it, however my tv only has a scart plug on it.
Ive been looking at svideo to scart adapters but it seems as though they all have 4pin connections.

does any one know of an 7pin svideo to scart adapter? and if its ne good?

if not will a 4pin one work just as well?
also any advice on what i want to do would be great.

    thanks

you may want to try checking tigerdirect.com they have a pretty decent supply of pc to tv cables and vice versa.

let me guess... you're somewhere in Europe, my guess is the UK... correct?

we went over this with Goldfish a while ago, since SCART isnt used in america..

most video cards dont actually have an s-video port on them, rather a 7-pin ViVo (Video in, Video Out) port which connects to an included dongle that splits it into 2 S-Video (4-pin).

if you bought your video card OEM, it might not have come with a ViVo Dongle... but they should carry them at any computer store. then you could use the S-Video to SCART adapter

The connecter in my new ati card looks the same as those i wonder if my adapters for my nvidia cards will work for it? cause they didnt give me a svideo adapter just a rca and .....um that one splits it into 3 different colors.

yeah, closest thing I can relate to SCART is the connector on the back of an Xbox.

in any case... as Lugztaz suggests, TV's dont make great monitors unless you're planning on watching videos on them.. the resolution is just too poor to use for nearly anything else;)

awfully sorry to bring this back from the dead, but does having a 7 pin SVideo Out mean that it can connect using a 4 pin cable? And also, does anyone know if you can connect an ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 (7 pin) to a JVC InteriArt TV (4 pin)?
