PC turns off instead restart

    My PC turns off when I (or PC itself) restart it. Yesterday, I was doing clean install of Windows XP, and when PC did that usual restart during the installation, it turned off instead. Also, when I restart it via restart button on my PC, it turns off. And it wont turn on easily after that. I turn it on, it starts to boot, but it turns off after 3-4 sec (nothing appears on monitor before turning off). Then I wait a little, and turn it on (after 5-6 attempts).
    During turning on, when PC dont turn off, i get these 2 sreens:

    Then I press F2 button, and system boots ok.

    Frend of mine told me to change some BIOS settings...in POWER options to change SUSPEND MODE from AUTO to S3, and in JUMPERFREE CONFIGURATION, to change OVERCLOCKING from AUTO to manual MANUAL and change CPU frequency (133, 166, 266, 333, 366, 400) and see what is happening. He believes thah processor was overclocked and that I need to manually set up the appropriate frequency. But, there is no change...

    Can U help me?

    The first screen shows that it could not find a hard drive. That's your first problem. Either a connector is bad or loose.

    The 2nd screen found the hd but then says overclocking failed so something is set to change the timing. I'll let someone who knows and understands changing timing tell you what settings you need to change.

    The other thing about having to try to turn it on multiple times sounds as if the power supply is marginal and doesn't always have enough power to fire up the computer.

    I see quite a few possible problems.

    First: check the IDE cabling
    Second: get a new power supply

    One more thing. I unchecked this:

    and now it does not turns off when restarting.
    I mean, I solved the problem partially, it does not turns off when restarting, but I believe that the failure is still there...or am I wrong?
    Can I say that everything is ok now? :)
