    Specs:

AMD Athlon 620 Quad Core @3.6
    Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1066 RAM
    ASUS M4A78-E
    Corsair TX650
    ATI Saphire 5830

    Problem;

have just moved PC to a new location, and booted up as normal, then after say 20 mins of gaming, it just powered down, no BSOD. Tried to restart and all i get is the fans spin for 1 second, then powers down again.

I have to unplug the PSU, and wait for MB light to turn off before trying again, when i get to the same pont with the fans spinning for less than a second.

Have tried a CMOS reset, and removed GPU, but would like some help as where to go next.

It's so much harder to troubleshoot your own PC!

Remove the side cover and look when your powering on.

Are the CPU and Video Card fans spinning?

    Are you getting any beeps?

Unplug the power and hit the power button (dump residual current).

Pull the RAM and reseat it.

    Steps 1-3 again.

Pull the Video Card and try and boot (you want beeps!).

Besides pulling out the video card, which could be a PITA, you could just remove all the ram, instead. And try powering up. You should definitely hear beeps then. :)

Are the CPU and Video Card fans spinning?

Have a water cooled CPU, so no idea, and took the vid card out, but all other fans spin very briefly.

    Are you getting any beeps?
    No

Will try the rest now and will report back ASAP.

    Thankyou.

I have a shocking story for you all!

    My CORSAIR PSU has died.

I was getting GPU CPU and case fans spinning for a split second, thats was it.

But as soon as i tried my spare PSU in, everything worked seemingly OK.

Guess even the best can have their problems!

    It happens

I've got a bad Asus board.

Contact them and you should get a replacement soon.

Even the best brands out there you can get a bad/defective unit.
