    hello friends, today I have fitted a new TXM650 semi modular PSU and a good nice clean used GTX1080 8gb speccy.jpg , the old 750watt non modular psu had gone noisy so when it came to fitting the newly purchased GPU I decided to swop it out, all went well and the PC fired up on command and runs as it always as with no problems, the trouble is it will not shut down, on selecting the shut down button the screen does show shutting down but 2/3 seconds later it restarts completely and the curser is missing also, that leaves shutting off the power as the only way, now the other thing I did was to rewire the rear fan because it was originally wired by Molex thro the two cable power on button, the TXM came with the fan cable that went to the mobo syst fan 2a, so I used that and also placed a new arctic pwm case fan on the side using syst fan 2b, I apologise for the drawn out, long winded description but wanted to tell you everything about the fault, what have I done I do not know, I hope that some one has had the same problem.

    While you're looking for a solution, create a shortcut on the desktop and for the target type: shutdown.exe /s /t 0
    That's a zero after the t. Click the shortcut to shutdown.
    Other fixes -
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ PowerdownAfterShutdown=1
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power\HiberbootEnabled=0

    Long ago I had a similar situation and although I can't remember the solution...
    My short term solution was rebooting onto a kodi USB drive which shut down properly even if it added 10 minutes to turning the pc off.
    Good luck with finding a proper solution.

    thank you foogoo and Stephen_c16 for your quick replies, foogoo the shortcut method was a no go but the 2nd reg edit HiberbootEnabled=1 works a treat so that has saved me from disconnecting my fans, many thanks, well Stephen save this in your fix it box ready for if you or anyone else on MG have the same problem after fitting new items to the PC, again many thanks to both of you and that's a fix well done, scipio

    I made a fast shutdown command here if needed later on just double click on batch file.

    Will auto shutdown system fast all most instantly.

    Simple command lines in text file

    @ ECHO OFF
    shutdown /s /t 0
    @echo

    many thanks XoXgaming, for the information but I have overcome the problem by disconnecting the fan that turned out to be faulty and replaced it with a new 80mm artic, by the way is your gaming strategy or fps.
