Pc Won't Boot From Dvd

Okay so this is an odd one. I'm trying to format my main hard disk to install a clean Windows 7. So I go in the BIOS as usual, set it to boot from DVD... I press a key on my keyboard as it asks, the setup loads the files just fine... then it goes straight to the hard disk. It literally boots Windows directly after loading the files on the DVD. So I tried removing the ability to boot from hard disk in the BIOS, but it still loads from the hard disk even with ONLY the DVD as boot device.

So yeah, I'm not quite sure what to do. If it helps, my mobo is a Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3. I'm using a legit copy of Windows too, it's an OEM disc of Windows 7 64bit Home Premium I bought with the PC.

 

Try copying the entire DVD content to the hard drive. (You could/should be able to run a Repair Install directly from there, should it copy over without errors.)

 

Yeah... I could do that but I still want to format. But I guess if my PC is stubborn and won't boot from DVD, there isn't much you guys can do for me...

The odd thing is, it used to work just fine. I'm not sure why it started doing this.

 

Yup, and copying the DVD contents to the HDD is a pretty good way to test for any damage/errors.
