my brother confessed me he used a partition program to delete the partition of my computer he dont know what he used or what he has done.
stupid joke really messed my pc up.
meanwhile i tryed everything even hooked up a floppy disk from my moms pc haha. to try boot disks
    still aint able to boot.
even when i placed a repair cd
it booted got the blue screen with windows setup but it gets stuck there.....
when i look at my cmos features i see this:
primary ide master: [pioneer dvd rw dvd-]
    primary ide slave: [HL-DT-stdvd-rom gdr8]
sata 1 master [none] <<-- where is my first drive :S should be there..
    sata 3 slave [none]
    sata 2 master [wdc wd1600jd-22hbb0]
    sata 4 [none]
i dont think this is good specially cause i have 2 hard drives. and one just aint being detected... o well you guys are the experts so please suggestions

Try unplugging the drive and plugging it back in again.

Do you have the SATA drivers on a floppy? These have to be loaded before XP can see some hard drives to be able to install.

Also, if the CD you are using is a restore recovery and depends on a partition hidden on the hd that your brother wiped out, then it will be useless.
You could try contacting the manufacturer, telling them your hd died and you can't use the restore/recovery CD. They may carry another CD that is usable. (Of course your brother pays for this!).

The drive isn't being recognised in the BIOS.

    gimpster123 Bring out the Gimp.

unplug all the hard drives, and plug the new one into the first sata port (0). Stick in your vista "anytime upgrade/install/repair" disk. Start your computer, enter the BIOS (you need to hit the indicated key del, f12, f2, etc... at startup. Go into the boot order section. Ensure that your cd drive is the first device. Save changes and exit. Now you should see the vista install program. Follow the steps as far as the partition creation part. Do NOT partition your hard drive- we just want to see if vista can see it. Report back here when you're done.
