Ok so this past few weeks my computer has been making some real strange noises couldnt for the life of me figure out where they were coming from, so what i would do was to jus turn the computer on and off a few times then the noise went away, but now i wake up try to turn it on it makes a even stranger sound then just turns off.

So now when i turn it on all the fans work disk drive works, psu works, gpu works but nothing on the screen and the monitor works fine on this computer im using now so :/

Any help would be much appreciated thanks John.

    Greetings, Johnboii.

What's the make and model #, service tag #, etc.? What operating system and service pack #? Any information about your hardware and software may help.

If the machine has a graphics card, have you tried onboard video?

Also, if possible, open your case and check everything. Look for any obvious dust buildups, damaged components, loose connections, reseat your RAM, etc.

The computer was built by a friend,Im using windows 7 64bit, amd phenom x4 cpu, corsair tx650 psu, ati radeon 5770 gpu, coolermaster cpu fan, http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/motherboards/detail_overview.aspx?ID=en-us0000412
thats a link to the mobo.

There is no dust really i clean it out with compressed air,
all cables are secure and nothing seems damaged as far as i can see.
I have also tried switching ram around didnt help

    Thanks again John

I was having the exact same problem. Then 6 months ago 1 of my 1GB DDR2 memory went out. Last week, the the 2nd memory chip went out. Now it sits in the corner as a paper weight until I can buy more memory. I'm guessing thats the problem. I was having difficulty booting up, so I tried to reinstall Windows XP. But during the installation, it gives me errors about not being able to copy files from the brand new windows xp cd and multiple page fault errors.

    My symptoms:
Loud noise, sounded as if the fan was rubbing on the heat sink.
Monitor that wouldn't respond when the motherboard was turned on.
After running for a bit or turning it off and back on, the sound would quit.

So after removing your bad ram the noise stopped or what?

No, the noise is still there. Haven't been able to buy new ram yet,
so the old one is still in there. Not saying thats the cause of the noise,
but I had exact same symptoms.

Not sure what the problem is. Took my heat sink out, cleaned all my fans,
traded out power supplies, changed my AGP video card and tried using my onboard graphics, nothing seemed to help the noise or monitor connection fail. So it has to be my sata 7200 rpm HDD. But the monitor problem, could very well be the ram.

I would try to locate the source of the noise. You can try the old mechanic's trick of using a screw driver and touching the hard drive with the end and put your ear to the handle. If the noise is from your hard drive, you know your drive is the cause.
