PC won't connect to Internet

My PC won't connect to the Internet, I have done the following
1. Contact BT they have checked phone line, home hub , cables to PC all ok
2. Replaced network card and install there new driver
3. System restored to previous date.
4. Carried out a clean boot (I think that what was called, other programmes do not start on start up)
5. I can get on line via the wifi from my iPad

In the net work and sharing centre, it keeps looking or identifying with no luck and its says in access type ' no Internet access'
They all say devices are working properly except for WAN mini port (PPPOE), which has a yellow triangle, the new network card is working

I'm running windows 7, with mcafee/bt net protect, ( never 100%trust it but its free) . I ran have super anti spyware free ed and it did pick a Trojan virus, whether this has anything to with it .

So again I asked for your help and knowledge, you good people of MarjorGeeks

Are you making sure that you are connecting to the correct Wireless Access Point. If wired, then most likely McAfee is causing the issue. Remove McAfee and try again.

Have uninstalled mcafee, still no luck.
In the box by the clock I get the blue circle, then the yellow triangle, no Internet access.

Try taking it somewhere with wireless, or even a local computer shop, and see if it will connect to their network. If it does, then you know that it is a problem with the equipment at your place.

 

My iPad , iphone, laptop all hook up ok to the wifi. Though the pc has wifi I have never used it, always hard wired. Both these items are solider/ connected on to the mother board, that's why I plugged in a new network card (wired) which works with the laptop.
I was going to reinstall windows to see if some program/ file is faulty, but didn't come with disc, or take it to a comp repair shop.
But... I like to have go , so any other suggestions will be much appreciated

You do not have to reinstall windows, to update the network adapter drivers. That is like taking your car in for an oil change to the local garage, and having them pull the engine from the vehicle, to put in a replacement engine; just because you wanted an oil change.

But go with me on this, if I 'I've deleted/uninstalled something that has effected windows taking to the network card. I though it would replace it.
I think/shore I' m trying to connect to the net through the new network card, but when setting up new connection the broad connection comes up and in brackets is WAN mini port ( pppoe) that's the on with the yellow triangle. If this the wifi on The computer iv'e never used in the passed should I delete it

 

Go to control panel, hardware, device manager, network adaptor
If network adaptor is not there you will see other devices
Ethernet Controller
Network Controller
PCI data acquistion and signal prosessing controller
PCI simple communications controller
SM bus controller

If these have a yellow ! marks you need to update the network adaptor driver

To do this go to pcsupport (for your brand name and model no) look for
downloads and drivers Find the WLAN driver download it to a flash drive
Install on your pc Problem solved
