PC wont shutdown after utorrent problem

Hi. I had a problem with my pc after utorrents latest update. One of the members here helped me fix the utorrent thing but now when I go to shutdown my pc after everything disappears from the screen the PC is still powered. I waited an hour and it still wont shut down.
My system is an Intel core i5 760 @ 2.80GHz 2.88GHz, 16GB RAM, 64 bit win 7 Home Premium service pack 1.
I have been through all the malware removal and found nothing. Wondering if its hardware or software problem. I normally leave my pc on 24/7 and shut it down once a week for a rest.

 

Seems like I fixed the problem. Not quite sure why but it looks like it was related to a new USB3 card I installed. I hadnt used it and after I plugged a drive into it the computer was all happy and working again. I dont get why this is so but anyway...its all good now.
