PC Wont Start up

Friend brought over a emachine, for me to look at, doesn't come on at all, push the on button nothing happens. I checked all connections, which were good. The green LED thats on the MB does come on indicating that power is there, but knowning that, that runs on low voltage, I tried a known good P/S. Same thing, nothing. Bypassed the power on switch with one I made for test purposes, still nothing. I tried different memory, same thing. The only thing I can think of now is the MB.

Or is there some else that I might be overlooking

I also cleared the CMOS, just in case something was changed

 

Check the capacitors and see if they are blown the should all be flat on top

 

Is it POSting? If no beeps at all try removing the video card and then see if it POSTs. If it does.........

 

It is just dead, push on/off button and nothing happens what-so-ever. To make matters worst, my good standby power supply, might be bad, found out it was dropped about 2 foot to floor, so I'm going to take one out of my kids pc just to try it.

If there are no LEDs lit on the motherboard then I'd agree with your assumption that the PSU has given up. If there are LEDs lit then let us know.
