PC wont start-up

Hi

I recently had opened up my computer to remove the harddrive, when a I put it back , on start up the is constant continuous beeping and absolutely no output the the monitor, the processor fan starts up and runs, the cd drives and the keyboard light up. What is wrong?

 

check your cable the big flat grey one disconnect and re-connect and the power to the harddisk do the same things...

and check on your case if the red light come up durring boot-up.....

 

check the ram.

 

Thanx for the response Clarke, I've tried that however there is absolutely no output to the monitor even if the hard drive was unplugged there still be something on on screen. I've move around the ram stick also, nothing.

 

ok try this, unplug everything from the board, if you have more then one stick of ram drop down to only one. Un plug the floppy, the ide cables, everything but the 20 oin connector, and the pw sw lead, all the cards everything. Try that. If it dosn't start then clear the CMOS jumper buy shorting the two pins together. and then put the computer back the way it was and start it up. that beeping means there is a fault. i usualy find it means there is a problem with the ram or processor.

 

how many beep code do you hear go to the website of the manufacturer of your motherboards and check they website for beep code this will tell you what is your problem...
