I just installed everest home edition and just ran the RAM latency benchmark and it says im running PC 2700 and in another section in says PC3200... this is confusing... my timing is 2.5-3-3-7 and then in another window it says PC3200...
Below is from the overclocking section about my RAM

    Field Value
    DIMM1: Xerox 512 MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-4-4-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz)

And heres mine from the memory latency benchmark...

CPU CPU Clock Motherboard Chipset Memory CL-RCD-RP-RAS Latency
    AthlonXP 1921 MHz Asus A7N8X-X nForce2-400 PC2700 DDR SDRAM 2.5-3-3-7 106.1 ns

but i bought PC3200... Corsair Value Select...

looks like the memory can only run at 200mhz"3200" at the lower latencies of 3-4-4-8,you will have to adjust them in bios down to those latancies to run at 200mhz,run sandra memory benchmark before and after to see which gives you the best performance, looking at those numbers 34mhz more running in cas 3"the first number should be faster. :)

ps If you set it to the lower latencies, set your memory devider if you have one to 1/1,once you have try lowering the latencies again see if it can run lower latencies at 200mhz

Also, many times, you'll get the best performance with the memory running in sync with the front side bus.

I would run my FSB at 200MHz but although i have WC, i still dont feel safe about it... I can't OC my memory in the BIOS though, its locked...

Ive got an ASUS A7N8X-X motherboard...

Also im not sure what you mean about a memory divider? I know about the CPU divider and how to use it but what do you mean by "1/1"?

ohh right you have a 166mhz fsb ;) ,so your stuck with that unless you get a 200 fsb cpu,the fsb/ram ratio is only for making the ram run slower than the fsb, there is no point having the ram run faster that the fsb using the ratio.

Also your ram is already running the lower latencies so it would be unlikely you can lower them even if you could adjust the latencies

I suppose ill OC my CPU to 200FSB in the BIOS... Ill just keep a watchful eye on the temps then...

EDIT : Also, I CAN change the timing of my ram but i dont want it to overheat!
I changed the FSB of the CPU to 200 and now it reads :

CPU CPU Clock Motherboard Chipset Memory CL-RCD-RP-RAS Latency
    AthlonXP 2300 MHz Asus A7N8X-X nForce2-400 PC3200 DDR SDRAM 3-4-4-8 98.3 ns

Are you checking the temps?keep speedfan or somehting running in the background, use the mem bandwidth utility in sandra or everest to check you actually have pushed the memory up to 200mhz,then knock it back down to 166 and run the bench again to see how much bandwidth you have released ;)
