I have an AMD system in my living room, with a 2400+ AMD Sempron CPU in it. I have that chip in a Pc Chips M851G, (junk...I know...http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/redface.gif ) but I'll live with it if only I can get it to recognize that it's got a sempron in it. The board said it did when I bought it, but it doesn't support the chip in reality.

I went to the website and found that they have a BIOS update. I tried every combination if things that I could get from them (the web site is a little vague at firist, you have to dig) and even the directions they give you to flash the BIOS don't work.

The CPU shows up as running at 1000MHz, and the core speed should be somewhere in the 1667MHz area. It's not a big difference, but the system should be running much faster than it actually is.

Any ideas? I'd be willing to try just about anything at this point, otherwise i'll just have to buy a new board.

    thanks,
