pci card's bracket...not the way it should be

I have a pci network adapter plugged in right now without its mounting bracket. The reason is because the bracket seems to be too short, as in the top of the bracket does not go high enough to fully insert the pci card, so I ended up taking the bracket off to get the card to fully insert. A picture of the card can be found here:

Now without the mounting bracket, it'd be real easy for something to hit the antenna and possibly snap the card.

Is there anything I can do to safeguard against this?

Do you have cards in any other expansion slots? Are they properly seated without the problem you have with the wireless NIC?

How much too short is the bracket on the NIC?

Is your system a custom build, or was it assembled by a brand-name manufacturer?

I think whats going on is that the PCI card isnt being fit correctly, be sure you have clearance between the case and the motherboard.
