On random shut downs, my gal friend's PC gives the BSOD:
pci.sys - Page fault in nonpaged area,
Then it freezes up requiring the shut down to be manually completed.

I've just run the diagnostic set PC-Doctor for Windows.
All hardware passes the tests except:

PCI Express - Video Card test
    Video Card test

    Video Card: ASUS EAH3450
Under both tests the following results were obtained:

ATI Video Test: Video Memory Test - FAILED
ATI Video Test: Non-Snooped Blit Test - UNKNOWN ERROR

Before I assume the video card is "broken" and begin the warranty process, are there any other possibilities I should look at for this problem to be sure it is not something else?
The card had worked fine until now since I built the PC for her back in June.
    Thx

    Thx Rikky for your response.
I'm smelling something wrong with the PC-Doctor results.
I brought it home with me to check it out further.
I have a PowerColor Radeon x1650 Pro that is giving me no trouble what so ever.
But, it's also giving the same failure and error results.
It looks too much like a rubber stamp failure.

I will not be back over to her place until the weekend after next.
Plus, my bandwidth is metered and I'm maxed out until the 11th.
So, I'll give 3DMark a try the weekend after next when I'm back over there again.

I'll update this with the results when I get them.
Any other possible causes for this BSOD?

Have not been able to figure this one out.
Nothing has seemed to work on it.
So, I gave up on it.
It wasn't actually causing any harm except for hanging on the BSOD during shut-down.

Now, it seems that the problem has "spontaneously combusted".
After several weeks of existence it has disappeared.
Beats me as to what was causing it.

Thx for all efforts to help with this.

the pci.sys hang on shutdown has returned to plague her PC again.
The following potentially linked items are also noted:

    1. I've recently purchased an eBook reader for her. It connects by USB.
It functions as it should on my PC but is not recognized by her PC when connected.
The book reader shows that it is connected by USB. But, it does not show on My Computer or show up as an auto start as it does on my PC.
After its having been connected to her PC, her PC will hang on shutdown and often will give the "pci.sys" BSOD, requiring a manual shutdown or restart.

    2. Device Manager / System Devices shows 2 - Microsoft UAA Buss Driver for High Definition Audio entries, one of which has an exclamation mark denoting a problem with it.
    Properties/Device Status shows:
"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)"
After uninstalling the one entry it re-installs upon restarting with the same problem.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking these problems may point to a common source.
    Any suggestions, thoughts or ...???
